Lifeproof iPad Mini nüüd Case Review
Having experienced and wondered at the might of the Lifeproof for iPhone , we were more than enthusiastic about receiving and testing the Lifeproof for iPad Mini.
with the Lifeproof for iPad you’ll be exploring strange new worlds and boldly going where no tablet has gone before.
Expectations were high, mouths were dry and palms were sweating in anticipation of whether the Lifeproof for iPad would perform as well as it’s smaller sibling.
Lifeproof produce cases for the primary or premium devices available on the market today, including Apple iPad’s, iPhones and iPods as well the Samsung Galaxy S3 and S4. When you consider how valuable an item smartphones, tablets and iPods are, financially as well personally, investing in a case of some kind is a given really; especially if you take your device out in the wilds, cycling or even by the pool.
The Lifeproof for iPad comes in two variants and depending upon your mood, you can either go nüüd or frē! Now – depending upon your point view – this isn’t perhaps as exciting as you may first think. We took receipt of the nüüd version.
nüüd screenless technology opens iPad mini’s brilliant touchscreen to your direct touch. While delivering an uninterrupted touch and visual experience, nüüd keeps your tiny tablet completely waterproof and shockproof.
A built-in scratch protector completely safeguards your iPad mini’s stunning Retina display. Ultra flat, super thin and optically clear, the scratch protector is virtually invincible to the elements and virtually invisible to the eye and touch.
If you read the specification of the Lifeproof cases you’d be forgiven for thinking these unassuming looking objects are military grade weapons for Navy Seals, such is the dazzling array of features and protection. Therein lies their strength; equally at home in a briefcase or handbag as it is underwater or out in the wilds.
Talking of Military grade, the Liferpoof case is designed to some rather exacting standards covering environmental conditions and ingress protection. You also get a carry strap which makes hauling the iPad around an absolute cinch!

Lifeproof actually state they test each and every case made, and if it leaks, it’s scraped. This from a confidence standpoint of view is excellent.
Could it be feasible to sum up the Lifeproof for iPad with a similar superlative to the Lifeproof for iPhone? Yes, yes it could. The Lifeproof for iPad is just awesome too! The same quality, construction and attention to detail has been scaled up and applied to the Lifeproof for iPad.
We’ll post a long-term review once we’ve really put this thing through it’s paces, until then, take a look at the “First Impressions” tab for further details.
It’s only when you get your hands on a product like a Lifeproof case you realise the folly of having turned yourself over the darkside of cheap imitations. As we’ve already discussed, when you consider the actual value of these lifestyle devices we’re all so very dependent upon, there’s no good reason not to invest relatively little in something that will protect your prized possession with the same ferocity as lioness would protect her cubs.
As we’ve already seen the Lifeproof cases are built and designed to very exacting standards not only this, they look really cool! My past experience has taught me if you want protection the trade off is something that turns your tablet from a slick lifestyle device into a less than mobile brick.
The Lifeproof cases take everyday hazards in their stride without bating an eyelid, in fact, as they’re fully IP-68 compliant and meet Military Specifications MIL-STD-810F-516.5, Lifeproof cases tread where other fear.
Having wrapped my iPad in a combination of baselayers, mid-layers or anything else I can get my hands on; the Lifeproof has given our iPad a new lease of life when we’re out and about. Great if you’re wanted to take pictures and review whilst out on extended trips.
Similar to the Lifeproof for iPhone, the iPad version includes a ‘Keeper’ for headphone jack cover, which seals snug against the body of the case. You also have the ability to swim and take underwater (2 meters/6.6ft depth) picture or video for up to 60 minutes.
Unlike a great number of other cases available on the mark today, the Lifeproof for iPad doesn’t turn your slimline tablet into a household brick; at 16mm thick, it really is ultra-slim and at approximately 130grams weights little or nothing.
The CrystalClear optical-glass lens ensures distortion-free photography
There’s a sealed door over the charging port which makes access easy and keeps water at bay
Add to this the nifty carrying strap and there’s very little you could want for

The Water Test
All cases are factory water tested. Then an independent group conducts additional testing, including a second water test on randomly selected cases. Cases that pass are shipped. Cases that fail are scrapped.
